Should I get the iPod Classic or Touch?
Right now I have a 3rd generation nano and I LOVE it. But it's getting kind of old (read: slow and glitchy) and the size (not the storage, the actual size) is starting to get on my nerves a little bit.
The touch seems like an amazing piece of technology, but I have a Blackberry so all the things I might use the touch for (like internet, contacts, memos, etc...) I use my Blackberry for. Basically, I'm thinking of getting this only because it's really cool and I maybe might regret it if I don't.
Ah, the classic. I'm leaning towards getting that one in silver because it has amazing storage for the price (250$ for 120 GB at my local BestBuy) and really, I'm only going to use my iPod for music and videos.
So anyways, I'm not sure which one I should get. Has anyone had any problems with either devices? I tend to accidentally drop/sit on things a lot- has anyone's device broke from a drop? Does anyone have anything exceptional to say about either one?

Blackberries are very nice and stronger than Itouches and have greater memory capability and that memory portable and can be upgraded. It also have a lot more features and is more durable than the iTouch. With what you currently have, there is no need for you to use an iTouch. You can convert your iTunes music and video to your blackberry memory and use it just like a Nano and an ITouch and have additional memory to spare for no additional costs. Your Blackberry also has WiFi capabilities.
Your Nano has a solid state flash memory hard drive, that should not be slowing down because there are no movable parts. The 3rd Gen Nano is an excellent device that in my view is actually better than the current models if only because it is simple to fix and keep going and is more durable than the current models. If you have a problem with it, try removing the music from the device and reload the firmware and the glitches should go away.
With respect to the classic. 120GB is a lot. That particular model is more difficult to take apart than the earlier models and I like the 30GB 5.5 Gen Video ipods better-because I prefer the firmware and thing the split screen and coverflow make the ipod look cheaper and more prone to hard drive crashes. The 5.5 Gen 60 GB can also be upgraded to 240GB which the classics cannot. You can also upgrade the 5.5 Gen Video to 80GB. because it has no split screen or coverflow graphic that nobody ever uses, it also runs faster.
Both the classic and Itouch are larger than the Nano. If you tend to drop them, you definitely do NOT want an iTouch because the screens do definitely scratch and crack easily.
Based on what you describe, the Classic would be the more durable of the two, but if it does break, because Apple has no made it so it is more difficult to take apart to fix if it breaks, my suggestion would be to either clean and reload your 3rd Gen Nano and have it check out for hardware issues or think about getting an 5.5 Gen Video Ipod. The other solution would also be to sell your nano and transfer everything to your blackberry memory card and use it as an all one portable smart device (as it was intended) want wait until Apple comes a long with a "cooler" device). I fix and upgrade a lot of Ipods for myself and my friends as a hobby and believe me-I think you have a great set up right now. If you need all the space (memory) than the Video or Classic is the best way to go if you want an iPod
