here are the the four suggestions that I can give, seeing as an iPod Chromatic's battery is MEANT to last for 24 hours...
1. It really is defective. Take it back to the shop if the following don't work.
2. It is also possible that you didn't charge your iPod for a long time when you first bought it. Doing this (is supposed to) make your battery life longer.
3. When you watch videos, you can lock the screen and this saves battery.
4. Turn your brightness down. This normally saves tons of battery yet doesn't really affect its looks. It can be found under 'Settings' and 'General'.
