Review of LED Lighting Technology In TV Screens
Modern TVs are unrecognisable when compared to their first ancestors. It was necessary with the first TV models to sit incredibly close and have the TV in the lightest room in house to make anything out. With each generation of TV, technology has moved on and we saw the likes of stereo sound, LCD, plasma and even touch-screen to name a few.
LED-backlit technology is the latest development to find its way into the digital entertainment market. LEDs are cropping up all over the place recently, in everything from car headlights to light-up crystal vases. Their popularity stems largely from their durability, their ability to create very pure light, and their energy efficiency. The old florescent lights have been the standard for a good while and have been able to supply TVs with light through many developments and generations, but the time has come for something better.
An increase in demand for faster, slicker and more defined pictures, coupled with a desire for everything to be super slim, goes some way to explain why LED lighting found its way into TVs. People want their phones, stereos and even vases slim line these days, and TVs are no different. As the LED backlit TVs use a special diffusion panel to create an even spread of light across the screen, the lights can be around the edge of the TV and not behind the screen. This means that many models are only around an inch thick. They also provide greater dynamic contrast and offer a wider colour gamut.
Another benefit of the LED technology is that it is a lot more environmentally friendly. This form of lighting uses around four times less energy than fluorescently-lit TV screens. When the TVs are finally disposed of as well, their pollution levels are much lower than fluorescent TVs. Additionally, the LED TVs are a lot safer and have less change of exploding due to power surges or contact with liquid. That said, it’s not advised that you start resting your wine glasses on top of them, just in case.

Ipod touch 4th gen cracked screen...?
I bought the new iPod touch 4th gen 32 gbs yesterday at target. Less than 24 hours later, it falls out of my pocket and the corner of the screen shatters. Its not too bad, considering it is mostly only in the corner, doesn't interfere with the actual display. Will target replace the iPod, if not, can I take it too the Apple store to get it fixed under warranty. And I absolutely refuse to fork out 100 dollars the day after I buy a 300 dollar iPod to get it fixed for a slight crack.
Answer:
1 day, 1 week, 1 year - it doesn't matter. Unless you got Apple Care, you have to pay.
