iMac G5 vs iMac Intel Boot
Intel Core I7 980X - Great Product, Good Feature Along With The Best Price
Well, I too droped victim to receiving the box having only the cooler, sticker, and cold weather paste inside. My first order was put on December 30, along with a motherboard, shipped using Arizona and arrived on January 3. All the shipping box was fine, but after I opened the box, I noticed promptly that there was packing tape with the Intel box, which was torn, along with a nice hole where the processor ought to have been. So, contacted Amazon, shipped back the box while using the fan inside, and ordered another Intel Core i7 980X then i didn't have to wait another week to obtain my system going. This time it shipped from The state of nevada (no idea if this helped me or not) as well as got my CPU. Hopefully they catch the jerks that can be stealing these (not sure if it's happening when they receive the product in inventory or during shipping to customers) simply because it sure is disheartening opening your new toy to locate nothing there!
I got everything arrange pretty quickly and this thing screams! I went coming from a i7-860 with 8 GB of RANDOM ACCESS MEMORY and an Intel 160 GB SSD, in the Intel i7 980X with 12 GB of RAM as well as same Intel SSD. I was worried at the outset that there wouldn't be that substantially difference, but this thing is just so crazy fast I don't think you can throw enough at it to essentially slow it down. I haven't had the chance to do any video encoding yet (I used Handbrake for the i7-860 and on my iMac) but I can wait to see how it does. I also haven't yet had to be able to see how much of difference this approach beast makes in games, but I don't really expect an immense difference on that front as I JUST already had, and still have, an ATI 5870, which works great. I mainly went for this to help boost my encoding and try to get additional into photo and video editing. Everything I've seen and read about this CPU is that must be pretty much the best consumer level processor you could get to do this type of operate.
I have had no problems this particular. A bit pricey, but worth by chance penny. All i can really say is that i've never found it necessary to overclock my processor, this contains enough power to do anything i need it to faster than any computer i've ever used. When casino, my FPS is completely unfazed while everyone else i know can barely run one half of what i do.
The Intel Core i7 980X is the king from the processors, if you have that extra $1k and don't know what to buy with it... This is definitely a great option.
5+ stars, without a doubt.
